Spring Update

Spring Update

Just a little update .... will keep it brief.

I've not long got back from a lovely holiday in Dorset.  We stayed in a beautiful Edwardian House near Bridport.  It our second "sibling reunion" in as many years, with my middle sister stopping over from Canada. Unfortunately, my brother couldn't make it this year but we raised a glass to him in his absence.  Hopefully another time.

Anyway, the countryside and the coast were beautiful and offered a wide variety of inspiration.  The weather was a little chilly but it stayed mainly dry so we were able to get out and about.  Beach huts, seagulls, green hills and cliffs made the perfect scenery. My Canadian sister particularly wanted to see the cliff that featured in Broadchurch.  I confess to not seeing a single episode although I have heard it's good and worth a watch.

To my delight, I discovered a superb little art shop in Bridport town centre and I could have spent an age in there.  I did stock up on a couple of things but had to be very restrained! I wouldn't have been able to get the easel I spotted in the car with the holiday luggage too!  Good art shops seem few and far between these days but there's something very special about them that makes me want to spend hours and hours browsing.

We were lucky to be in Bridport at the same time as the "Stampede by the Sea" elephant trail. A collection of beautifully painted elephants to be auctioned off to raise money for Weldmar Hospicecare. Below are a couple of my favourites together with a link to the website for those interested. Lovely to discover the artists behind the designs.

Back home now and feeling quite pleased with myself that, I have finally updated my website!  I'm not a natural IT whizz and would rather be painting but it's a necessary evil.

If you head to the prints section, you'll see I have some new Giclee prints available of "Fields at Wall" (original now sold) and "Bothy by the Burn." These Giclee prints are produced locally by a wonderful company based in Shenstone, just outside Lichfield. They're expensive to produce but the colour reproduction is very good so I think it's worth a little extra investment. The team there are very keen to ensure you are happy with the final product too so that's a big bonus in my eyes.  I have priced them as competitively as possible and there's free postage within the UK too!

There's also a couple of new blank card designs too, "Love Grows" and "Mill Cottage." These are also printed locally by the same company and proved popular at my last craft fair held at Lichfield Guildhall.

Well, before I go and get cracking on some more painting, one important thing is for me to wish this boy a very special 24th Birthday.  He's had some extra carrots and polos today and the military fly past for VE day flew over his field! How special is that.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUMMI. xx

Take care everyone.

Love
