Happy and Sad

Happy and Sad

Hello and thanks for visiting.

Where to begin .... firstly, I would like to thank Amanda at The Courtyard Fine Art Lounge for giving me the opportunity to create a piece of artwork exclusively for the gallery. "Making Memories" features all the fun of the seaside. It's a large one and took many hours over many days to finish. Naturally, I have included some of the elements I enjoy painting most, a lighthouse, colourful houses, beach huts and seagulls!  IT IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR SALE VIA THE GALLERY on Dam Street so if you want to banish the autumn murk with blue skies and sand, then this could be the one for you.

I don't take such opportunities for granted. I used to dream about having paintings in galleries so I was thrilled to be asked again by Amanda to produce something new (my painting Lighthouse Bay sold via the gallery last year) and I'll be starting on a third piece soon. The next one will be Lichfield-themed so watch this space .......

As you know,I also have some smaller pieces of art available via Vintage Spotty Dotty Artisans based at the Heart of the Country Village at Swinfen. I've recently topped up my stocks there with some larger wooden hearts. Spotty Dottys is just adorable and is full of handmade creations from local artists, nestled amongst the restaurants and shops in the tastefully converted farm buildings. Well worth a visit. (Just an update, Pumpkin Patch is reserved.)

At the moment, I am working on stock for Christmas craft fairs including some new Christmas card designs. I also need to learn how to put up the new gazebo I'll be using for the Heart of the Country fairs in December. That'll be fun. It weighs a tonne!! There's lots going on!

Unfortunately, I end this blog on some really sad news. Our beloved horse, Rummi, passed away last month. It was all very unexpected, as if he had just passed away in his sleep. No signs of illness and had been fine the previous day. What a way to go. We'd had the pleasure of owning him for almost 20 yrs and he was a big part of our family.  He could be naughty, an angel, aloof and loving. In our minds, we were certain we had a few more years with him (he was 24) but sadly, that was not to be. For anyone that has lost a treasured pet, you'll know just how hard it is. I feel blessed that the last memory I have of him is seeing him happily trotting up to the gate for his treats. It feels so strange not going to the yard now or remembering we don't need to pick up the extra bag of carrots with the shopping. Rest in peace dear boy, you beautiful, cheeky soul. We'll miss you forever but treasure the memories you gave us all.

Thanks so much for reading.

Take care.
